Informationen

The String Archestra was founded in 2016 by Dr. Dr. Daniele G. Daude to promote works by Black, Indigenous, and PoC composers who have been erased in the concert repertoire and canonical classical music history. In 2021, The String Archestra won the TONALi Award in the “Umbruch” category and performed at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The String Archestra collaborates with a variety of composers, including Ayanna Witter-Johnson (Apollo Prize 2011), Anthony R. Green (Founder Castle of Our Skin), Jessie Montgomery (Grammy 2024) Craig Harris (Sun Ra and The Arkestra), MARIAMA, Shannon Sea, Shelly Phillip, Yudania Gomez Heredia, and Philo Tsoungui. Today The String Archestra pays hommage to french composer Joseph Bologne Chevalier de Saint-Georges (1745-1799) with soloists: Sarah Martin (USA) and Ariane Lysimaque (France). The concert will continue with composers from Brasilien, Chile, Venezuela and Mexico.

Featuring
Sarah Martin is a genre-crossing violinist with a global footprint and founding member of The String Archestra, who brings classical mastery and contemporary edge to the stage. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she trained at Oberlin Conservatory and Northwestern University before launching an international career that spans orchestras, opera, film, fashion, and beyond. Now based in Berlin, Sarah performs widely across Europe in both classical and commercial spheres. She has recorded for films like Wakanda Forever, The Little Mermaid, and Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, collaborated with Alicia Keys for Netflix’s Queen Charlotte, and appeared on screen in the film Tár. Her wide-ranging work includes performing with Adele, Tyler the Creator, and Stevie Wonder, and contributing to tracks by Burna Boy and Rihanna. Her work with fashion houses—including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Moncler—has earned industry accolades, including Best Music at the Fashion Film Festival Milano. From the concert hall to Fashion Week, Sarah’s music reflects an innovative, modern versatility that defies boundaries.

Ariane Lysimaque is a classically trained violinist who also plays jazz. For 25 years, she has been creating music for shows aimed at young audiences, exploring the world of storytelling and dance. She regularly collaborates with storyteller and children's author Gilles Bizouerne, dancer Julie Meyer for the show Chubalourne, and violinist Alice Jeal in Le Swing de Billie. Ariane is also a member of the Ensemble DodéKa, a string orchestra that stands out for its performances played from memory and in motion, offering an original musical and visual experience. With her extensive experience in group teaching, she shares her passion through various projects. She teaches for the DEMOS program at the Philharmonie de Paris and leads music workshops for the conservatory in Paris's 20th arrondissement. She is also involved in cultural outreach and performance with the dance company La Nébuleuse de septembre. Ariane Lysimaque and Daniele Daude met in 1995 during orchestra sessions while studying violin. After this encounter, each followed their own musical path: one continued in France, and the other in Germany. Thirty years later, chance brought them together for a musical collaboration. They will share the stage with the String Archestra, under the artistic direction of Daniele Daude.
