Krieg in Gaza - Friedensperspektiven aus der Region

Nach den Massakern des 07. Oktobers 2023 wütet seit mittlerweile über einem halben Jahr ein offener Krieg in Israel/Palästina, insbesondere in Gaza. Für Menschen vor Ort bedeutet das ein tägliches Ringen ums Überleben.

Wir möchten diesen Abend nutzen, um etwas weg von den Auseinandersetzungen und Debatten in Deutschland den Blick stattdessen auf Perspektiven aus der Region zu richten. Auf dem Podium kommen wir hierfür mit Menschen ins Gespräch, die selbst aus Palästina/Israel kommen, dort gelebt und gearbeitet haben. Wir diskutieren mit ihnen die aktuellen Ereignisse, ihre Wahrnehmungen und Analysen, aber auch ihre Hoffnungen und Vorstellungen zu möglichen Friedensstrategien hin zu einer Lebensperspektive für alle. Was haben Bombardierungen und die Blockade in Gaza angerichtet? Wie ist die Situation im Westjordanland im Angesicht der Siedlungspolitik, einer Kultur der Straflosigkeit und der zunehmenden Radikalisierung der Bevölkerung? Wie steht es um linke und friedenspolitische Bewegungen, welche Interventionsräume gibt es und welchen Repressionen sind sie ausgesetzt?

Daran anschließend wollen wir mit den Referent*innen auch die Möglichkeiten friedenspolitischer Interventionen von hier diskutieren. Wir hoffen, trotz allem, durch das Gespräch ein respektvolles Zusammenkommen zu ermöglichen, das vor allem eins erlaubt - Anteilnahme für die am stärksten Betroffenen dieses Krieges und eine Ahnung, wie weiter von hier aus.

Die Veranstaltung wird auf Deutsch und Englisch stattfinden, eine Übersetzung wird es geben.

Die Veranstaltung fällt auf das Datum des israelischen Holocaust-Gedenktages Yom haShoa. Dies war leider aus organisatorischen Gründen nicht anders lösbar. Wir bitten um Verständnis, dass wir uns im Anbetracht der Situation trotzdem für eine Durchführung entschieden haben.

War on Gaza - Peace perspectives from the region
For more than half a year, since the massacres of October 7, 2023, a war has been raging in Israel/Palestine. Especially in Gaza, life has become a daily struggle for survival for people on the ground.

This evening aims to widen our discussions beyond the heated debates here in Germany and instead focus on perspectives from the region. On the podium, we invite people, who have lived, worked and struggled in Palestine/Israel themselves and use the chance to discuss current events with them. We want to engage with their perceptions and analyses, but also their hopes and ideas for possible peace strategies towards a life perspective for all. What have the ongoing bombings and blockades caused to Gaza? How is the situation in the West Bank, facing ongoing settlements, impunity and the increasing radicalization of the population? What is the situation of left-wing movements and peace politics, what spaces for intervention are left and what repression are they confronted with?

Furthermore, we will try to discuss what possibilities remain for solidarity interventions from here towards peace strategies.Despite everything, we hope that the evening opens a space to come together respectfully, that allows most of all sympathy for those affected by this war, as well as an idea of how to move forward from here.

The event will be held in German and English, with translation available.

The event falls on the date of the Israeli Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom haShoa. Unfortunately, for organizational reasons, this could not be solved otherwise. We ask for your understanding that we have nevertheless decided to go ahead with the event, considering the overall situation.
